FACULTY OF POLITICAL SCIENCES, PHILOSOPHY AND COMMUNICATION Invitation We, at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Philosophy and Communication of the West University of Timisoara, are honoured to invite you to participate in the International Symposium: Ideologies, Values and Political Behaviours in Central and Eastern Europe, 2nd edition. The event will take place on Friday 28 November and Saturday 29 November 2003 in Timisoara and the topics on which we would like to have your contributions are: - Political Ideas in Central and Eastern Europe - Political Parties and Electoral Behaviours - Human Rights - New Political Actors - Challenges of Globalisation. Central and Eastern European Perspectives We regret that our institution is not able to cover expenses for traveling and accommodation. Information days on regional innovation strategies in Central and Eastern Europe

  The innovation relay centre and innovating regions in Europe (IRC-IRE)  central unit is organising a series of information days on regional innovation strategies in Central and Eastern Europe, to take place between October and December.

The information days aim to illustrate the benefits for a region of carrying out a regional innovation strategy project. Specifically, the events will focus on helping potential proposers prepare for the forthcoming call for proposals for such projects in acceding and candidate countries.

The following dates are foreseen:
- 17 October, Piatra Neamt, Romania;
- 20 October, Wroclaw, Poland;
- 4 November, Malta;
- 10 November, Prague, Czech Republic;
- 24 November, Vilnius, Lithuania;
- 27 November, Bratislava, Slovak Republic;
- 5 December, Sofia, Bulgaria;
- 8 and 9 December, Budapest, Hungary.

The Austrian NCP for Energy (BIT) in cooperation with the Innovation Relay Centre (IRC) Austria and the coordinator of the EU- project "SOLAR-NET Arsenal Research organises the following event:

Co-operation exchange "renewable energy" with Central and Eastern European countries
in Vienna, Parkhotel Schönbrunn
December 4-6, 2003

Beside the co-operation exchange the event includes lectures and workshops, presentation of posters, excursions to demonstration plants and a social programme. The aim is to strengthen the co-operation between partners of Central & Eastern European Countries for EU-Framework projects and Technology Transfer.

Your clients of economy and research will have the chance to get in contact with experts of Renewable Energies. Specific advantages for your clients are :

o   Presenting their project ideas on the below mentioned     website already before the event
o   Dissemination of the results of their research projects     (FP5) in Central and Eastern European countries
o   Opportunity to form international co-operations and search     for partners for submitting proposals within the 6th     Framework Programme

Information day on regional innovation strategies in associated countries
  An information day on regional innovation strategies in associated countries will take place on 17 October in Piatra Neamt, Romania.

The main aim of the event is to provide an overview of the mechanics of regional innovation strategies. A number of case studies will be presented during the event, focusing on the added value of regional innovation strategies for regional development.

In addition, a representative from the European Commission's Enterprise Directorate General will present a summary of the EU's regional innovation policy and a summary of the forthcoming call for projects related to regional innovation strategies in associated countries under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) .

The information day is being organised by the PARTNER thematic network, a spin-out of the innovating regions in Europe (IRE)  network.

We have the pleasure to invite you to participate in our conference, named
(How) We S EEO Balkans and the Black sea region

The main idea of this event is to gather young people from all the Balkans and the Black sea region- to discuss the present situation-in terms of integration and cooperation and future perspectives for these regions.
It should be an open dialogue on different topics, concerning policy, economics, culture and other- everything that is related to the specific features of these two regions and their place and role in the SEE ( South Eastern Europe) and the rest of the old continent.
The euro-integration poses some serious questions and challenges before the countries in the Balkan region .the Black sea region- seen as the transitional zone between the core and the periphery of Europe becomes more and more important..
Let` s gather together and share our opinion and point of view for these and many other issues.J

People from all the countries in the Balkans and the Black sea region, which makes:
Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Macedonia, Serbia& Montenegro, Romania, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Moldova.
To participate in the event you can choose:
to prepare a short presentation, related with some of the topics (not more then 5 pages; the title should be written in the application form) for the topic "Different faces of Homo balkanicus"one participant from each Balkan country should prepare a short overview /not more then 15 min./ of his country, which represents one of the "faces" of Homo Balkanicus.
or just to take part in the discussions and the round table after that

20 euro (including accomodation for 4 days in the university campus, the meals and the trips )
